Ingredients

I was finishing off a pint of "slow churned" cookie-dough ice cream, and decided to read the ingredients. I've learned to eat healthier as of late, so reading ingredients is a daily occurrence.

I came to the most odd ingredient that I can remember that I've heard of lately...Chocolatey Chip .

The return of normalcy... sort of

Had the continuance of my residential work today. I thought it went well, with the exception of when I was done with the "when you're done..." appointment. There was a nice hard rain waiting to greet me at the exit. I attempted to wait it out. That didn't work. I felt like a wet dog (or worse, a wet cat) by the time I arrived at my car, which was strategically located across the parking lot.

Work was similar to a typical Monday, but on a Tuesday, and it felt like I returned from a vacation day, which meant double the work, 1/2 the time. Maybe the Xref (how interesting... spell check just returned a result of grep from Xref) will actually be done by the time I get to work tomorrow.

Anyone care to place bool bets?

Three Day Weekend

Today is the end of a three day weekend.

The Cubs won 1 game (hopefully their funk ends). Great to see Matt Murton getting back into his "groove". Yesterday's Braves game must have been the thorn.

On the home front, I was able to spend some quality time with the wife, while doing some spring cleaning that took about 3 years to start. I even mowed the front lawn.

On the work front, I've been doing a little research on PC's for one of my residential clients -- It's easier work for me, but I love to do it. Makes me feel great to help someone... which is one of the finest points that got me into doing IT work. The compensation may be minimal, but the stronger soul is worth it.

What I learned today:

While waiting on your wife, do something productive while waiting. It pays off.

Pathetic

I generally believe that every day is a new one, with new opportunities for success/failure. While listening to Today's Cubs game, it was a mixture of excitement and disgust.

Big Z was throwing a no-hitter through 6, and Atlanta somehow didn't fully capitalize on those walks by "Z" in the first inning. The 9th rolled around, and we were up by 2 -- dropped the ball once again kids (and for Mr. - Perez, that phrase has multiple meanings (two, specifically) -- Yes, folks, Ron Santo was quite upset)).

I don't believe that the loss of Derrek Lee, absence of Prior, Wood (yes, I know he's back), and/or Wade Miller (whom we haven't seen yet) is to blame.

They were doing respectively well two weeks after losing Derrek Lee. What happened in the first week of May to cause such a "downward spiral"?

How NOT to lead Geeks

Informative article on how not to lead geeks . I must admit that I've experienced at least one of these.

Hi.

I'm new to the whole blogging thing -- sounds pretty cool though, so I decided to create the account.

Ultra Quick Bio:
I'm an Information Systems Manager, Web/Software Developer, and a Husband (not much time for anything else -- and don't give me crap for having husband at the end, as this is just a list in order by how it was typed.

I'll make strong attempts at keeping it updated, as well as keeping the world informed of my everday development, successes, failures (we are human -- they do exist). Check back soon, leave some comments, enjoy yourself.

Greatest Phrase I heard this week:
"Suckling on the Power Teat" (credit goes to Wedding Crashers for that one). I was even able to use it once at work -- great stuff.
