Pathetic
I generally believe that every day is a new one, with new opportunities for success/failure. While listening to Today's Cubs game, it was a mixture of excitement and disgust.
Big Z was throwing a no-hitter through 6, and Atlanta somehow didn't fully capitalize on those walks by "Z" in the first inning. The 9th rolled around, and we were up by 2 -- dropped the ball once again kids (and for Mr. - Perez, that phrase has multiple meanings (two, specifically) -- Yes, folks, Ron Santo was quite upset)).
I don't believe that the loss of Derrek Lee, absence of Prior, Wood (yes, I know he's back), and/or Wade Miller (whom we haven't seen yet) is to blame.
They were doing respectively well two weeks after losing Derrek Lee. What happened in the first week of May to cause such a "downward spiral"?

I think the "newness" of the season wore off and they realized just how many players they lost without really good back up. Either that or the damn goat let loose a big snort.
The goat is a special fan. Maybe he did. At least they won today. Woody did well.
